Hello CMS Family,
My name is Shannon Swilley and I am excited to assume the role of principal of Central Middle School. The 2021-22 school year will be my 16th year in education, spanning a wide variety of educational settings. I have been a Middle School and High School Social Studies teacher, a Middle School and High School administrator and an Adjunct Professor. I obtained my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees from Olivet Nazarene University where I played basketball for 4 years during my time as an undergraduate.
My time at ONU is most notably marked by the day I met my wife, Jillian. Shortly after graduation, we were married and two years later we welcomed our first of three children Isaiah, 18, Micah, 16 and Leah, 14. While I am proud of many accomplishments in my life my family is by far the greatest!
As an educator, I am committed to thoughtfully and fairly serving students and staff. It is important to me that every resource is explored to ensure that all students are getting what they need to be successful. I believe in the concept of “the community school” and the difference that a collective group of positive adults can make in a child’s life. I am humbled by the opportunity to work for you and look forward to building strong and lasting relationships with our students and their families.
Mr. Shannon Swilley, M.Ed.
Hello Central Middle School Families,
I am thrilled to be starting the 2020-2021 school year as one of your Assistant Principals. This is my 22nd year in District 124. I taught Math for 18 years here at CMS prior to transitioning out of the classroom. I have been beyond fortunate to spend the majority of my career in our district, and take great pride in our school community.
I am an educator at heart, and love everything about CMS! I cannot think of any other place I would want to be than here in the Evergreen Park Community. My goal is to ensure all of your children receive the best education possible in the safest environment. I look forward to working with each and every one of you to make this school year as successful as possible.
Please reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas you have for myself and our administrative team!
Mrs. Jenny Daly, Assistant Principal
Welcome to a new school year of learning at Central Middle School. It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I continue to serve as one of the assistant principals in District 124. Approaching my 15th year in education with this district enables me to continue to utilize the tools that I have garnered as a teacher, MTSS coordinator, athletic coach, and counselor to young men and women in the Chicagoland area schools.
I am truly looking forward to all aspects of school. While we know learning is key, it is important that we remember how invaluable our social-emotional environment is to our community. Being an athlete at North Park University provided me with the opportunity to explore the importance of service, community, responsibility, and compromise- all of which supported me to obtain master’s degrees in counseling and educational leadership.
Support is important. I look forward to continued partnership with staff, parents, and the community. Though it is a cliche, it truly does take a village to make certain that our youth have what they need to be successful. Through various mentorship programs along with the creation of a social-emotional curriculum, I have accepted a journey to provide students with life skills training and mentoring support while making sure that students continue to grow academically.
I look forward to your partnership.
Daniel Richmond, M.Ed.
