The Evergreen Park School District 124 Board of Education has voted to rescind the contract offered to Dr. Matthew Eriksen.

District 124 will now devote its attention to filling the need for a new principal at Central Middle School, so that the upcoming school year for students, parents, and staff can begin on a positive note.

With the contract of Dr. Eriksen now terminated, District 124 holds no financial obligation to him. Eriksen, who was scheduled to start on July 1, 2018, will be paid nothing by the District.

The Board of Education is committed to the continued well-being and improvement of the school district. Every decision made is in the best interest of the children and families served. Legal obligations often make it challenging for the district to act as swiftly as some may prefer, and we are thankful that our community has stood together in unity while we took the steps to resolve this situation.
