Committed to Your Wellbeing

District 124 is continuing its commitment to provide more effective social-emotional and behavioral health in schools. The District Community Leadership Team (DCLT) was created as a result of a federal grant and is made up of district and building administrators and community partners. These partnerships include, The Center For Self-Actualization, Evergreen Park Library, K12 Systems Change Solutions, The Urban Barn at James J. Sexton Park, and SXU Birth to Three Program. The team meets quarterly to analyze data and trends, identify barriers, and intentionally integrate mental health and wellness supports across the district.

The team will be adding additional partners including members from Easter Seals (Birth to Three Program), Evergreen Park Village Pantry Coalition, and Evergreen Park Office of Citizen Services.

These partnerships have brought much needed support and services to the students and families of Evergreen Park. A partnership with the Center For Self Actualization had afforded D124 another year of therapists in each of our five schools.

Another program that is continuing after a successful launch in the 2023-24 school year is access to free parent coaching and mental-health focused webinars through a partnership with ParentGuidance.org and Cook Center for Human Connection. Starting this year, we will have access to over 32 webinars with about half provided in English and the other half in Spanish. Topics include Bullying, School Avoidance, Body Image, ADHD, Anxiety, and much more. The platform will continue to have pre-recorded webinars on specific topics, as well as, additional resources. In addition, once a month, they will be hosting a live webinar, "Ask a Therapist." This webinar is available to all D124 parents looking for support

Parent and staff coaching is available to any D124 parent/guardian or staff member who is experiencing mental health challenges at home or at school. Coaching is individualized support and resources, connecting parents with a coach and therapist to help navigate the ups and downs of the most difficult mental health challenges.
